COMPANY TRAINEE PROGRAM
The Complexions Contemporary Ballet Academy Trainee Program is designed for highly dedicated dance artists to transform from pre-professionals into professional artists aspiring to become members of Complexions Contemporary Ballet and join other leading contemporary ballet companies worldwide.
This training program is an in-person two-week intensive training session which includes:

Taking daily ballet and/or NIQUE classes with Complexions company members taught by Complexions rehearsal directors, ballet masters, and/or Co-Artistic Directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson;

Learning Complexions repertory and receiving personal attention through technique critiques, coaching, and artistic development with current and former Complexions company members;

Participating in creation rehearsals with Co-Artistic Directors D. Rhoden and D. Richardson.
ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

Trainees might be selected to understudy and/or perform with Complexions Contemporary Ballet in its Summer touring season or Pre-Professional program.

The program will also serve as a platform for Complexions Company Apprentice invitations.
ELIGIBILITY
BY INVITATION ONLY. Dancers 16 years and up.
The CCBA Trainee Program is by invitation only from the CCB Co-Artistic Directors, CCB Academy Director or designated representatives.
To be eligible for a Trainee invitation, dance artists must be at least 16 years old and demonstrate a level of proficiency in one of our CBB Academy intensives. Dance artists may also be eligible by invitation through Universal Ballet Competition, Revive, Adrenaline and National Honors Dance Conventions (restrictions apply).
Please note: If you are invited to the Trainee Program, this is an invitation to work directly with Complexions company members, Complexions rehearsal director, ballet masters, Associate Director and/or Co-Artistic Directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson. This is not a year-round program and there is no guarantee for an invitation to participate in the Summer touring season.
Trainee Program is NOT an Apprentice position with Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
DATES & SCHEDULE
2025 DATES: TO BE ANNOUNCED
You must be available through December 2025, in case you are invited to participate in the 2025 touring season.
SCHEDULE: 9:00 or 10:00 AM - 5:00 or 6:00 PM
Monday - Sunday. Schedule will vary according to specific company rehearsal needs.
LOCATION: New York City
TUITION
Trainee Program Cost: $1500
*You will be responsible for your own travel costs, accommodations, and living expenses while in NYC during the Trainee Program. If you are invited to perform with the company outside of NYC, CCB will cover your travel and accommodation costs. Salary or stipends are not available for any performances for Trainees.

If underaged, parents consent to participate in the program and on tour if applicable.

Participants will be required to maintain health protocols provided by CCBA as a general practice while in class, dressing rooms and on stage.
